How to Set Up Hik-Connect for Remote CCTV Viewing on Your Phone

Hik-Connect allows you to view your Hikvision CCTV cameras live from anywhere using your smartphone. This guide shows you how to set it up step by step.

Step 1: Download Hik-Connect App

Download the Hik-Connect app from:

  • Android: Google Play Store
  • iPhone: Apple App Store

Step 2: Create a Hik-Connect Account

  1. Open the app and tap Register
  2. Enter your email address or mobile number
  3. Enter the verification code sent to your email/phone
  4. Set a strong password

Step 3: Enable Hik-Connect on Your DVR/NVR

On your DVR or NVR:

  1. Go to Main Menu > Configuration > Network > Platform Access
  2. Enable Hik-Connect
  3. Accept the Terms of Service
  4. Note the Verification Code (you will need this to add the device)

Step 4: Add Device to Hik-Connect App

  1. In the app, tap the + button
  2. Select Scan QR Code or enter the device serial number manually
  3. Scan the QR code shown on your DVR/NVR screen, or find the serial number on the device label
  4. Enter the Verification Code from Step 3
  5. Tap Add

Step 5: View Live Feed

Once added, tap the device name to view live camera feeds. You can also playback recorded footage and receive motion alerts directly on your phone.

Troubleshooting Tips

  • Ensure your DVR/NVR is connected to the internet via LAN cable
  • Check that the router allows outbound internet traffic
  • Restart the DVR/NVR if the device shows offline
  • Make sure Hik-Connect is enabled and the verification code is correct
